For a skate team that kind of just came and went, little do they know how much influence they had on skate NERDS all over the country.? Or maybe they did know the extent of their influence and that?s why it didn?t last long.? But Menace gave most of us SUBURBAN kids a slap in the face of what inner city skateboarding looked like.? While we thought we were cool listening to Green Day and REEL BIG FISH on our boom boxes, there was a subculture of dudes like Kareem Campbell, Alfonso Alomar, and Joey Surriel who were straight up gangsta with their Wu-Tang.? I don?t think I would be into hip-hop like I am today without those guys sharing their lifestyles on skate videos.
And then when World Industries came out with 20-Shot Sequence, that?s when most of the skaters in my hood turned HOOD.? Good-bye punk CD?s.? Hello Ol Dirty Bastard.? It was an epiphany for most of us, and the Menace team really showed us how to be thug, al while being able to skate wit mad steeez!
VBS.tv will release what took a year to film and many different personalities to gather.? This is the Epicly Later?d featuring one of the sickest skate teams ever assembled in Menace.? The personification of hood is set here and I can?t wait to see it.? Check out the trailer below.
