It?s tougher than ever to stay in touch with people that you meet, much less people that you know. However, there?s a vast opportunity in the network that you already have.
Five Ways to Reconnect with Contacts

Here are five ways to reconnect with contacts after years of being out of touch
1. What is their company up to?
Getting up to date with what their company or organization is doing is a great way to get started again. Send them a note to re-engage them about the latest news about their company.
2. Where did you leave off?
If it?s a weak connection or a very old one, it can be helpful to mention where you left off. What was the last conversation you had with them? Who introduced you? If you met them only briefly, where was it and what did you talk about? This can help jog their memory if they can?t remember you.
3. What are they interested in?
Check out their latest status updates on social networks, or even take a look at their blog. What are they thinking about these days, and how can you make it relevant?
4. Who do you know in common?
A great way to re-establish relationships is by referencing a relationship which may be more fresh to them. Mutual contacts establish trust and rapport, and can be a great way to start off a conversation.
5. Ask them for advice on something
Send them a note and ask for advice on something that they?re knowledgable about. It?s a compliment to them that you consider them an expert, and a great way to re-start a conversation.
